After making the kale pasta and realizing how much the kale absorbed the spice, I decided to try adding cayenne to kale chips. It adds some kick!
Ingredients
- large bunch of kale
- salt and pepper to taste
- cayenne to taste
- olive oil
Preheat oven to 350
Rip kale into bite-sized pieces. Mix together oil and spices. Brush kale on both sides with olive oil mixture. Lay flat on baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Bake for 7-10 minutes. Once edges start to brown, the chips are done.
This recipe took a couple of tries experimenting. I found the best way to get the oil on the kale is with a basting brush. Otherwise, I find the kale has too thick a coat of oil on it. Depending on how crispy you want the chips, you may need to alter the time in the oven.
